2010 Camposol Fiesta Is Almost Upon Us! (17.06.10)

CAMPOSOL FIESTA - Spain is the land of Fiestas and Urbanisation Camposol is no exception, this year the fiesta will be held over 2 days (Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th June 2010) on Sector B by the Commercial Centre. The Fiesta takes place outdoors with music, dancing, fireworks and involves all the community getting together for a great deal of fun.

Saturday 26th June

12.00 Noon. Official Opening of the Camposol Fiesta by Mayor Blaya Blaya. Followed by a special presentation of equipment bought with funds raised by PALS (Protection and life saving) to the local emergency services. The craft fair opens from 12 noon. Stalls by local charity groups, Face painting, Traditional games and laser clay shooting. Craft stalls by local artists and local businesses.

12.30pm. Music by the Little Rock Band.

1pm. Music by Rondalla de Mazarron.

2pm. Free Paella will be available. Instrumental Music by John Sloman.

2.30pm. Karate demonstrations by Lloyd.

4pm. Music provided by local singer Christine.

5pm. Music by John Sloman.

6pm. Performances by The Cloud Nine Drama Group. (A variety show of comedy and music).

7pm. The Raquel Peña Flamenco Dance Company.

7.45pm. Music by JJ Kane.

8.45pm. Music by Shakey Ground.

9.45pm. Music by Backwater.

10.45pm. Headline Act: Beetles Tribute Band: The Liverpool Band.

12am Midnight. Disco by Byron and Scorpio Sound.

2am. Close of Day One.

Sunday 27th June

9.30am. The Camposol Fiesta Fun Run. Entry is Free! Help raise money for a charity of your choice. Sponsorship forms still available -see the fiestas camposol website for details.

10am. Mazarron Dance festival. The Competition will be held in Kennelly's Cabaret room until 2pm.

11am. The Camposol Fiesta Tug of War! Local teams compete to win the Trophy. Organized and refereed by Don Cruickshank.

12 Noon. The second day of the craft fair opens. With face painting, Laser Clay shooting and lots of games for all the family.

2pm. Music on the main stage by A la Mode.

3pm. Mazarron Dance competition awards ceremony on the main stage. (Followed by a series of performances from the competition).

4pm. Music by The Gecko Brothers.

5.30pm. Second Karate demonstrations by Lloyd.

6pm. PALS Scruffs Dog Show.

6.45pm. Sunday night variety show sponsored by Mercers, Best Wishes, Sporting Chance, Tony Smith Insurance and The Camposol Business Centre.

The Glitzy Bitz Fashion Show hosted by local entertainer Byron.

7.30pm. The Everly Brothers Tribute band. Part one.

8.20pm. Play Your Cards Right hosted by Byron, Chris Cross and Rod Sawyer.

8.45pm. Belly Dancing.

9pm. The Grand Draw for the Citroen C3!

9.15pm. La Cantina Song and Dance Show by Chris Cross.

10pm. Music by Lewis Jones.

10.15pm. Local musical talent: Kieran as Michael Jackson followed by local singer Mary B.

10.30pm. Eric Faulkner from the Bay City Rollers!

11pm. The Everly Brothers Tribute band. Part two.

11.30pm. Grand finale "There's no business like show business".

11.45pm. Fiesta Fireworks! And the closing ceremony for the weekend.

On the day there should be a Photography competition, the theme being "capturing the spirit of the Fiesta" - this has yet to be confirmed. Get snapping just in case!
